Talking to myself

Starting to wonder what’s the point – I had all these ideas for this blog and what I wanted to do with it.  How I was going to make myself a site to sell my stuff and how I would post my own sketches and my LOs and stuff and it would be really cool …. yea, whatever.  No new hits EVER and not a single comment… go figure right!

I guess, just like every where else, here I am just talking to myself…….

Spring in Iowa This Year…

Ok ok ok I GET IT… spring ain’t coming this year!  I UNDERSTAND THAT !!!  But really did Mother Nature have to do THIS to me on EASTER MORNING to really drive her point home???  I mean really was that in any way fair at all?  On the bright side by the time we hunted eggs it wasn’t on the ground anymore… it was just falling from the sky.  *sigh*  I renew my question…. spring… what’s that????

I LOVE spring…

and i SOOOOO wish it would happen soon.  I swear that one of these nights that it goes below zero I am going to wake up in the morning a perfectly preserved little Popsicle!!  This morning when I got up the wind chill made it all of -15 degrees outside and that is really just insane – and did I mention that it’s supposed to be COLDER tomorrow morning!!!  Anyway – I really can’t wait until spring and – shall we say the countdown begins…. 30 days left!!!!  Come on!!!!

Our changeable weather….

Weather in Iowa ALWAYS changes. There’s a joke here that if you don’t like the weather, wait until tomorrow, it’ll change. That’s just the way it goes in the midwest. Although this year HAS been a little quirkier than usual for the winter. We got something crazy like 19 inches of snow in December and by early January there were a couple of days that we actually were able to go out with just hoodies on and no coats… then a couple weeks later here we are again. Last weekend we had the lowest recorded temp of the winter at -12 or something nuts like that for a low and it was even negative for the HIGH! Now that’s just wrong. LOL

A Couple of Recent Pictures…

Ok – here’s a couple of pictures that I took recently of Zack. He’s getting so big so fast it’s sometimes a little shocking. Like this particular day…

We had to get it together and get ready to leave since I had to get to the shop and he had to get some quality grandpa time so I told him to go get his pants. Really more of a ploy to get him away from the laptop for long enough for me to send an email than a true hope that my 2 year old was going to go get that pair of pants that I had on the back of the couch for him. After about a minute or so of silence… all us mom’s know that silence is the ENEMY… I looked over at the kitchen door and not only did he GET his pants but he was working on trying to PUT THEM ON!! He only got one leg on and then tried to put the other on from the bottom cuff instead of the waistband but …. well… wow, he really is growing up so fast these days that sometimes I wonder if even being home with his so much that I am going to miss it just by having to do dishes or being in the other room…

My First Scrapbook Layout for 2008

I know I am not normally one to do the digital thing but I think I am at an unfortunate point is my scrapping life where it’s I either scrap on the computer or I do not scrap at all. So here is my first layout for the year…

Mark and I went on one of our photo drives on the 31st of December and the weather was HORRIBLE and beautiful at the same time. I took a ton of pictures all out the window of the Tahoe cause there was no way Iwas standing out in that weather. LOL It was icky!! And to show that even further – these pictures are NOT in black and white – they are taken in full color on a day when it was so hazy, blowy, snowy, and frigid out that the WORLD was in black and white. But aren’t they great?? LOL Gotta love the photographer in all of us don’t ya?

Really Gona Try…

Ok I am really gonna try this time to get it together and really blog – I know i have said this before but I need to get on it and just do it. Especially since I have to have some time to do the wedding one too … LOL There are some blog challenges on my favorite scrappy spot to go play so i will have to get on those to give me some ideas to do things on here…..
